What monthly bookkeeping is
Monthly bookkeeping is a fixed cycle: transactions recorded and reconciled through the month, then the period closed and reported. Stronghold works the file weekly rather than once at month end, so the close is a review rather than a scramble, and a licensed CPA signs off before anything is released.
Who this is for
You need financials on a predictable date because a lender, a board or a partner expects them.
You are past the point where a spreadsheet and a shoebox is defensible.
Your current provider goes quiet for three weeks and then sends a PDF.
You want the same thing to happen every month without asking for it.
You have been billed hourly and the number moves every month.
Businesses generally reach this point somewhere north of $200,000 in revenue, which is the floor Stronghold works to.

What arrives each month. A profit and loss statement, a balance sheet, and a short written note on anything that needs explaining. The note is the part most providers skip, and it is the part that makes the statements usable. A P&L with no context is a document you file. A P&L that tells you why margin moved is one you act on.
If something in the month needs a decision from you, we ask before the close rather than picking a treatment and correcting it later.
How it works

STEP 4 · EVERY MONTHWeekly upkeep, monthly closeFinancial statements are delivered by the 10th business day of the following month.
What it costs
One flat feeFlat-rate and monthly. No hourly billing, so a busy month costs the same as a quiet one.

See full pricing →Why Stronghold
A CPA analyzes every close, not only the year-end file. The fee does not move. Flat-rate monthly pricing means you can budget it, and we are not incentivised to spend longer on your file than it needs.A monthly bookkeeping service that only touches your file once a month is a different product. It costs less and it finds problems later.
Proof
Stronghold's tax-planning work is designed to identify opportunities that can range from $10,000 to $100,000, depending on the business and its circumstances. Results vary, and every recommendation is based on the client's actual books and tax position.

Common questions
Monthly bookkeeping questions
How much does a monthly bookkeeping service cost?
Pricing is custom and flat-rate. The quote reflects company size, industry, headcount, bank and credit-card accounts, locations, entity count, transaction volume, and any cleanup required. See the pricing page.
When do I get my financials each month?
By the 10th business day of the following month.
What if my books need cleaning up first?
Most new clients need some. Cleanup happens before the monthly cycle starts. See cleanup and catch-up.
Do you work weekly or monthly?
Both. The file is worked weekly and closed monthly. That is the difference between finding a problem in week two and finding it in March.
Is there a contract?
No long-term lock-in. The Foundation Buildout includes setup, and Stronghold offers a 100% service guarantee.
Do you file our tax return?
Stronghold handles proactive tax planning and works with an integrated tax-preparation partner for filing. We coordinate the year-end handoff so the books, planning, and return preparation stay connected.
